This ares of the Gulf Coast is known for clear green waters and beautiful white sand beaches. It’s a great place for lots of different water activities, from sailing and swimming to surfing and jet skiing. You can take a tour in a glass bottomed boat, go on a dolphin cruise, or check out parasailing opportunities. Want to get away from Panama City Beach’s developed waterfront? Consider the St. Andrews Recreation Area – a nearby state park just made for hiking and camping, as well as plenty of other outdoor activities. You may see some interesting wildlife.
If you feel like doing something inland, there are lots of golf courses and golfing opportunities in some of the country’s nicest courses, great shopping and dining, go-karting and even live alligator shows. Check out Pier Park, the area’s growing entertainment and shopping area, including an excellent movie theater. This area used to be a sleepy beach town, but there is a lot more available for vacationers now. It’s a great escape from the everyday.
The majority of activities are along a stretch of road called Front Beach Drive. Kids will love Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and the Gulf World Marine Park, complete with sea lions and exotic bird aviaries. They even have African black footed penguins! The exhibits are highly interactive, making them a lot of fun for everyone. Local seafood restaurants must be sampled, and many are kid-friendly, too. The area is a popular spot for Spring Break vacations, which is something worth knowing for students and adults alike.
If you’re a college student looking for somewhere fun to visit during Spring Break, you’ll want to make sure you make reservations ahead of time to beat the crowds, and check out all the great opportunities for fun. There are late night beach parties, live music, social gatherings, great bars and restaurants and a whole lot more. Special events may happen on the beautiful white sand during this period. These are truly beach lovers’ beaches. Families, couples and individuals who’d like to avoid crowded areas and Spring Break noise will want to schedule their trips accordingly.
The official season can run anywhere from early February to the end of April, and the first three weeks of March are the peak. If you want peace and quiet, book your Panama City Beach vacation for the quieter periods outside of this time. Then enjoy the museums, beach sports, water activities and more you’ll find in this great vacation town. If you’ve never been to Panama City Beach, you haven’t really been on vacation!
