Two Stars Shine at The Players Club in NYC: Kevin Spacey and Andrea Correale

Last night two-time Academy Award winner, Kevin Spacey, was presented with the coveted “Edwin Booth Lifetime Achievement Award” at a special awards ceremony and fundraising gala at the landmark Players Club Mansion at 16 Gramercy Park South in New York City. The event was hosted and catered by none other than celebrity chef, Andrea Correale, and her dynamic off-premise catering and event-design company, Elegant Affairs.

Kevin Spacey is an icon in theater and film, having won Best Supporting Actor for his memorable role as Kaiser Soze in “The Usual Suspects” in 1995; and for playing Lester Burnham in the critically acclaimed, “American Beauty” in 1999. With over 50 movies to his acting, writing, producing and directing credits, he was an excellent and extremely worthy choice for the recipient of the “Edwin Booth Lifetime Achievement Award”. Kevin Spacey has played a diverse array of heroes, anti-heroes and villains, including playing Bobby Darin in “Beyond The Sea” and Lex Luthor in “Superman Returns”. Most recently, Kevin Spacey has garnered more recognition and awards nominations for his role as Executive Producer of the box-office hit and critic favorite, “The Social Network”, the story of Facebook creator, Mark Zuckerberg. Kevin Spacey has a new movie in theaters right now, entitled “Casino Jack”. The award was presented to Kevin Spacey by actor-comedian, Dennis Leary.

The Players Club was founded in 1888 by classical actor, Edwin Booth. The “Edwin Booth Lifetime Achievement Award” is a prestigious honor awarded to an actor and theater luminary for their respective lifetime body of work. There are an impressive historic array of previous award recipients that include: Angela Lansbury, Edward Albee, Jose Ferrer, Jack Lemmon, Christopher Plummer, Marian Seldes and Jason Robards(to whom Mr. Spacey presented the Edwin Booth Lifetime Achievement Award). The Players Club boasts a formidable historical membership, including: Ernest Hemmingway, Frank Sinatra, Humphrey Bogart, President Grover Cleveland, Tyrone Power, Cole Porter, Norman Rockwell, Spencer Tracy, James Cagney, Arthur Miller, JP Morgan, Eugene O’Neill, Rex Harrison, Peter O’Toole, Morgan Freeman and Al Pacino, to name only a few.
