How to Make Your Own Black Lightsaber From Star Wars

The Star Wars saga is one of the biggest blockbuster hits of all time. Countless fanatics worldwide follow every movie premier and buy different Star Wars merchandises. One of the most popular merchandises is probably the black lightsaber. This famous Star Wars item is a very popular choice of weapon when it comes to costume parties during Halloween. In creating a black lightsaber, the first thing you need to do is to have all your materials gathered. In this project you need the following items.

• 2 chrome plumbing pipes (6 feet with 1.5 inch diameter)
• O-rings which are used to enhance the grip
• Rubber garbage disposal gaskets
• Automotive weather-sealing and Rubber anti slip pad
• Magnetic and adhesive tapes
• D-ring or substitute ring
• Gloves, X-acto knife
• Button, calculator bubble-strip and a light source.

After preparing these materials, you are ready to start with the first step in creating your very own black lightsaber.

STEP 1: CREATING THE BEGINNING FORM OF A HANDLE

Gather all the end rings and slip them down the plumbing pipes. The flared lips will hook the end rings. You can screw them on to the short connector pipe so that all the 3 pieces can be fastened.

STEP 2: POLISHING THE HANDLE

After fastening the end rings, you can now arrange the O rings on to the shaft. This can be arranged according to your preference. You then cut the rubber handle strips with the appropriate length and place it on to the grip. Make sure that they are all cut out equally and are evenly placed along the handle.

STEP 3: MAKING IT LOOK CREATIVE

You can add decorations and different designs in order to make it unique by using the weather sealing strips, buttons and calculator bubble strips.

STEP 4: ADDING THE EMITTER-END

You can then add the emitter-end strip to the handle. In order for the disposal gaskets to be secured, it should be wrapped around or on top before screwing the end cap.

STEP 5: SECURING THE STOPPER

In securing the stopper, you should get your belt hooked. If you are using metal stopper, a hole should be drilled in it before plugging the handle end. You can add glue to secure it perfectly.
