Picasa, Fotoslate 4 Photo Print Studio and Wondershare Photo Collage Studio

Couples of days ago, needing to make some photo collages for my friends, I downloaded several share/free software after searching from Google – they are Picasa, Fotoslate and Photo Collage Studio.

After my works done, I found something difference among them. And here are some different aspects I’ve compiled to help you getting this job done.

1. Key feature

Picasa: Make simple collages and poster.

It can rename pictures from inside Picasa and backup photos safely by burning to CD or VCD, giving gift CDs with slide shows or creating network backup.

Fotoslate: Print

What it attracts me most is it supplies powerful function for printing. Quickly create professional-quality photo albums, print sheets, photo calendars, photo greeting cards, contact sheets, T-Shirt transfers, and CD/DVD case inserts without the cost of using a professional print shop. Fotoslate easily print multiple photos on the same sheet, saving you money on expensive photo paper.

Photo Collage Studio: Making collage

Just some clicks, it’ll turn your so-so pictures to works of art. Photo Collage Studio features powerful image editing & optimizing ability, including Crop, Flip and Rotation, Gray and Negative, Shadow, Filter. Simply apply frames, mask effects to photos and add text or Wordart that stay with the collage to input your funny words. Moreover, hundreds of animated/static clipart images are included to spice up any project. You can also adjust the picture size and opacity to get the best look.

2. Advantage and Disadvantage

Picasa:

Frankly speaking, Picasa looks like a combination of some software, for example, making collages, printing and creating slideshow. However, each of them is not so powerful, just meets the simple needs. Besides, the first time use this software, it’ll search for all the pictures, photos or movies in local drive automatically and take up much ram, CPU and a lot of time as well, especially the one who has bunches of photos. Yet it’ll be convenient the next time you use it.

Fotoslate:

Fotoslate is really a good tool for making calendar, greeting card or something like that. It can apply photos to each page of calendar. But the paper sizes only include 4×6, 5×7, 8×10, letter, legal, tabloid, A3, A4, A6, Hagaki and note card. We can’t make a larger one or set the calendar as wallpaper.

Photo Collage Studio:

Photo Collage Studio is kind of easy-master software with friendly using interface. Beginners will find that any complex collages can be made in seconds. For there are multiple output types, the works can be saved as graphic image or wallpaper, sent to friend via email directly, or printed at virtually any size.

I think it’ll be better to add some more editing abilities, and decrease the size.

3. Price

If price is most important, I suggest Picasa, for it’s totally free. As shareware, Fotoslate has 7-day trial, and $29.99 to buy. Photo Collage Studio is a bit cheaper- 30-time free trial and cost $29.95.

4. Size

Picasa: 4.52Mb; Fotoslate: 11Mb; Photo Collage Studio: 14.9Mb.

Conclusion:

This article has shown you three tools for creating photo collages to color your digital life. Whichever option you choose is up to you, but I feel that the best one, as mentioned above, is Wondershare Photo Collage Studio

(http://www.photo-collage-software.com). Good luck and have fun!

BTW. I recommend installing Wondershare Flash Slideshow Builder to make interesting slideshow with your collages.
